3D imaging in our office (iCAT CBCT)

In-office iCAT 3D imaging is available and may be recommended based on your evaluation. It can provide a closer look at the jaw joints, teeth, and other structures captured in the scan, including the nasal passages and airway.

Part of your evaluation, when it is needed

Imaging is recommended based on your evaluation, not taken by default. When Dr. Leon recommends it, the scan is taken here in the office rather than somewhere else, and she goes over what it shows with you in plain language, in English or Spanish.

Questions patients ask

No. In-office iCAT 3D imaging is available and may be recommended based on your evaluation.

Do I have to go to another office for the scan?

No. When it is recommended, it is taken here in the office.

  • Comprehensive TMJ evaluation

We start by looking at the whole picture: your health history, symptoms, jaw joints and muscles, teeth and bite, jaw movement, and posture. We also consider whether surrounding tissues or pain coming from another area may be involved. Treatment recommendations are based on your individual findings.

  • Sleep and airway

Snoring, waking up gasping, or tired no matter how long you sleep? The office can arrange a home sleep study read by a sleep physician. For patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea who are good candidates, Dr. Leon makes custom, adjustable oral appliances, in coordination with your medical or sleep provider.

  • TMJ care after an accident or injury

Car, motorcycle, scooter or e-bike accidents, falls, and sports or martial arts injuries can all leave the jaw hurting. Dr. Leon evaluates each patient's history, symptoms and clinical findings to determine appropriate care. Upon request, the office provides copies of treatment records and related documentation.
